Now Geek This Reviews Two Offerings From Black Mask Comics

nowgeekthisIn this latest edition of Now Geek This, I’m going to mix things up a bit.  I was recently given access to previews of two comic books produced by publisher Black Mask Comic, Last Born, and Critical Hit.  Black Mask has a full line of books from creators including Grant Morrison, Steve Niles, and Vanessa Del Ray coming out in the next few months, and also have recently announced that the Syfy channel will be adapting one of their books, Five Ghosts as a series. Lucasfilm Announces Star Wars License Back To Marvel In 2015

Friday Jan 3rd after Ken and I had recorded Mighty Marvel Geeks (show is recorded on Thursday evenings) Lucasfilm, Dark Horse Comics and Marvel dropped a series of monster press releases. The announcement is 2014 is the LAST year Dark Horse Comics (DHC) will have the licence to produce Star Wars Comics after a 20+ year run. Dark Horse makes a 'Sacrifice'

But Sam Humphries saw it as an opportunity to use it as a basis for Sacrifice, a 6 part series following Hector, a Joy Division fan and an epileptic like Humphries himself. This man from San Diego is thrown back in time 700 years in a psychedelic journey to heart of of the Aztec Empire. I found this series a great read with all the insight into the Aztec culture and history. More

HALO: Escalation will follow the events of HALO 4. You beginas the UNSC Infinity is assigned escort duty for a diplomatic mission but has to fight off an attack meant to throw off the negotiations. Staring and featuring Captain Lasky, Spartan Palmer, and a cast of recognizable characters, this series is promising to bring new story lines from the HALO Universe to become essential reading for the HALO fan. On Tuesday, Dark Horse Comics announced that its graphic novels are now available in Apple’s iBookstore. This move makes Dark Horse one of most widely digitally distributed publishers.
